Interpretation

“YamunāSolar aspect, Male energy”(the plane of the solar) is the male energy in the player. If the player is a female, she will find it difficult to identify with the male in her.However, knowing and realising the male aspect of her self, will help her understand the nature of duality. The pingalā nāḍī is associated with the male energy in us, and it flows on the right side. The word Yamuna derives from “Yama” meaning “twin” in sanskrit. Yamuna is also considered a twin of the river Gaṅga, in socio-cultural context.

The river Yamunā, in Hindu mythology, is Yāmi the twin sister of the God of death Yama. She symbolises infinite love and compassion. Her love for Yama is infinite, however, Yama suggests that she find a match for herself. She then finds her love in Kṛṣṇa. Yamunā gives freedom from death in the realm of her elder brother Yama.

The Padma Purana narrates the story of two brothers, who lived a life of indulgence and lust. They finally plunged in poverty and resorted to robbery and were killed by beasts in the forest. They both reached Yama’s court for judgement. While the elder brother was sentenced to Naraka (hell), the younger was granted Svarga (heaven). Astonished, the younger brother asked the reason for it, as both had lived similar lives. Yama explained that the younger brother had lived in the ashram of a sage on Yamunā’s banks and bathed in the sacred river for two months. The first month absolved him of sins and the second one granted him place in heaven.

Yamuna are found in the Rig Veda, the oldest of the Vedas, which date to around 1500 BCE. In these hymns, Yamuna is described as a river goddess, and is associated with purity, fertility, and the monsoon season.

In the later Vedic texts, Yamuna comes to be seen as a more complex and powerful goddess. She is still associated with purity and fertility, but she is also seen as a goddess of compassion and forgiveness. She is also associated with the concept of shakti, or divine power.

In the Hindu tradition, Yamuna is one of the seven sacred rivers, and is often worshipped alongside the Ganges. She is also seen as a sister of Krishna, and is often depicted in art and literature as being associated with him.
