Interpretation

SukhalokaPlane of satisfaction”(plane of satisfaction) is a state of satisfaction. The player is in the later stages of life. She as a seeker, is satisfied with her achievements and experiences “sukha”. Immersed in this experience she feels detached from perishable objects (materialistic needs). She also experiences her attachment to the “timeless subtle”, the cosmic consciousness. However, she still needs to act in karma as she is still away from liberation. She needs a six to reach her goal, Vaikuṇṭha. So, she still needs to act, and throw the dice.

The sense of satisfaction leaves her vulnerable to inaction. She is alive with the purest and strongest of energies, having achieved much in life. She is just two cells away from divinity and six away from pure cosmic consciousness and liberation from the cycle of births and deaths.

Does she still need to act? Why? The story of Trishanku, throws a beautiful perspective to this state – read it here.

I believe, she still needs to establish through karma, her single mindedness towards cosmic consciousness. She still needs to work her way through the different states of divine existence and reach cosmic consciousness, for she has not taken the path of surrender (bhakti), but of toil and perseverance. She is in the company of the timeless, immortal, elite, that do not perish with the death of brahmā and persist eternally till they merge with the supreme consciousness. However, there are no ladders or short-cuts to achieving liberation from here.

Where is this “sukhaloka”? Where is this “plane of happiness”? Swami Bodhananda Saraswati says – To experience happiness, or not to experience it, is your choice. But as far as I can see, the fact that your true nature is happiness means that regardless of the choice, you’re helplessly a happy person . Think deeply – you will agree that you are “helplessly a happy person”.

Identifying with your “true nature” is finding “sukha loka”. “Sukha” literally means, “plenty of space”. How will you find this “plenty of space” inside you? By teaching your mind to accommodate everything! Attempt to “enlarge your heart” to accept everything, and you will find “sukha loka”. Yes, there will be “resistance” (just like the stock exchange index), but keep at it! The higher the index the more the resistance and the more the sukha!!

Story

Sukhaloka is a concept in Indian Vedic thought that refers to the realm of heaven or paradise. It is often associated with the concept of moksha, or liberation from the cycle of samsara.

The earliest references to Sukhaloka are found in the Vedas, the oldest scriptures of Hinduism. In these texts, Sukhaloka is described as a beautiful and blissful realm, where the gods and other beings who have attained moksha reside. It is said to be filled with all the pleasures of the senses, such as beautiful sights, sounds, and smells.

In the later Vedic texts, Sukhaloka comes to be seen as a more complex concept. It is said that Sukhaloka is not just a place of physical pleasure, but it is also a place of spiritual enlightenment. Those who reside in Sukhaloka are said to be free from all suffering and pain, and they are said to be able to experience the highest states of consciousness.

On the game board

Sukhaloka is the world of happiness. It is a place of joy and contentment. Those who have found happiness go to Sukhaloka after death.

The game of Ludo snake and ladder is a reminder that happiness is the goal of life. We can find happiness by living a life of virtue, by helping others, and by being grateful for what we have.
